about

This is a bitter revenge track built around a crazy rock riff based loosely around Telvision’s ‘Marquee Moon’, one of the greatest riffs of all time. The rest of the song was definitely influenced by The Stones, particularly the bluesy piano line inspired by Nicky Hopkins.

lyrics

Cold is the crime, when the crime’s disguised as friendly
So sharp was your knife, but ya keep on sticking it in me

Together we shine, but for you, it’s solitary
Control it was mine, but ya took it so completely

No, you didn’t scare me, but I lost my mind
Pivotal conversations, changing the time

Bold was the lie that you saw some value in me
Strobe lights that blind, and the flickering distracts me
Revenge it is mine, and I’ll do it nice and sweetly

No, you didn’t scare me, but I lost my mind
Pivotal conversations, changing the time
Shifting understandings, what’s yours isn't mine
Everybody’s moving, I can't read the signs
